Whims - 15Sep26
00:00:00 Chris Golden: Hi, I'm Chris and you're listening to Whims.
00:00:07 Chris Golden: Why Whims, presuming you're asking about the show and not the title, which I'll actually get to in a future episode. I felt a new podcast itch for some time now. I had an idea on how I wanted to scratch it, yet didn't think there was a niche where it quite fit. And then I stumbled upon Chris Enns, who records the Daily(ish) podcast and his target of kicking off a new season of his show, where he's recording an episode every day during his fiftieth year, which, in my humble opinion, is awesome! But what Chris was doing is exactly what this Chris, your humble host, has wanted to do for a good spell. So I was faced with a decision - wait a while until I hit my very own fiftieth year and record an episode a day, or hit the ground running and start now. So here I am... running. As this is now my fourth podcast, I know I have some issues, my focus is to do something quite a bit different. With my hockey podcast, C4, you hear me and my co-host Anna, discuss the Vancouver Canucks and Vancouver Goldeneyes. With the esports podcast, Ready Set Pwn, you heard me and co-hosts Omni and Jordan react to the former world of the Overwatch League, specifically the Vancouver Titans and Toronto Defiant. And with Nerdy Dad Cast, you got to hear my co-host Jon and I talk about how two nerdy dads approached parenting. But with "Whims," my plan is to share whatever whims cross my mind over the course of the day or the week. Maybe you'll find me commenting on the weather. Or maybe we'll chat about the latest episode of Ted Lasso. Sometimes I'll talk about video games or parenting, or sports, or again, whatever might be the course of action for the day. Yet unlike all those other podcasts, it will just be me for the most part. And unlike the hour or more long episodes, expect most here to clock in around five minutes or so. Sure, if someone happens to hang out with me for a spell to chat, maybe they'll be longer.
00:02:54 Chris Golden: But we'll be aiming for a fiver here, and that's fine by me. Whims is recorded on the traditional and unceded territory of the Semiahmoo, Kwantlen and Katzie Nations. You can email me at whimsfyi@proton.me that is W H I M S F Y I at proton dot me, and you can drop a casual hello, comments, ask questions, or provide the winning lottery numbers. No, I don't need your help with SEO. You can find all the links mentioned in this episode, in the show notes on the website whims.fyi.
